Buying Paint

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I found a store called Rehab Resource. They sell items at 50 - 70% below cost. I am looking to buy paint to fix up the house. They sell it for $5 a gallon. Is this a good deal? They get all kinds of household supplies like this. Cabinets, sink tops, tools, etc. Any advice on painting would be great also.

In our community the Sacred Heart Catholic Church is having a build up your neighborhood month. We are supposed to go for a meeting then all chip in and help build up each others homes. Many hands make light work.

Since good paint goes for $20/gal on up, that's a good deal indeed! We bought a bunch of paint at trade day last year for $5/gal and have been happily using it up as we find projects..we have the loveliest chciken coop for miles and miles around! LOL

Melinda, you must live near Indianapolis!!!!! I live in Franklin! I am very familiar with Rehab Resource. I have some opinions about the paint that RR has, and I paint professionally on the side for the extra money, so email me with any questions.

What side of Indy or Indiana are you from?

Melinda the best deal on paint is often at recycling centers. You can even mix several shades to get one you like for FREE! Check it out. Save money and save the earth at the same time.

I think that program sounds wonderful. Many young people don't know how to fix things on their homes--this way the older ones can help the younger ones....
