Clarification and Thanks re: Kit, my injured cat

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Dear Countryside Friends,

I recieved lots of friendly and comforting notes, as well as excellent practical advice about Kit, my cat, who died of an injury to her head last week. I realized, from reading the various responses that I got, that I was not clear about the timing of the whole incident. It was such a difficult, emotionally charged time for me, that when I posted my initial request for help, I left out an important detail. The whole thing took place within 24 hours, from the time we came home and found her, until she died. It happened so fast, there was barely time to think, or to know where to find help. I do apologize for the miscommunication.

Thank you, all of you, for being so supportive, so compassionate, so kind, and for taking the time to share your vast (collective) knowlege with me. It is truly a wonderful thing to know that you are all there, a community of friends and support. What was a sad moment in my life turned into something very positive and uplifting, because I found out first hand, what a treasure it is to have Countryside Magazine and all its readers, and this forum as means of communication. You are the community that I have been looking for, and you fill an empty place in my life where there has been a real need, for a very long time.

I am grateful to be a part of this community, and I will be glad to share my experience and knowlege with all of you, too.

Blessings to you all,

Christine

Christine, Now knowing the short period of time involved, 24 hours and the severity of her injuries, I question why your vet sent her home saying they were pleased with her progress. That would hardly be enough time for her to respond to any treatment and in your case I wish he had been more honest with you and not given you false hope. In any case as I had said in a previous post, I am truly sorry you lost her and was glad for her that she was home with you in the end. I am sure she knew you were there. Kate
