Joan,

You write:

"A true faith is calm, open, and without need of hiding under the bedcovers."

This doesn't sound like you. You are emotional and closed minded, and your posts are consistent with this view. When your posts' points aren't unquestionably accepted by all, you have a tendency to throw up your arms and start calling people names.

Joan, I'm not going to tell the Moderator how to do his/her job because:

1) I'm just a guest here.

2) I've seen the moderator's actions and I believe that they're even handed.

If I had my own forum (I don't!), I would censor arguments when they went into gutter-language and personal attacks. I would maintain the posts of those with diverse views whose posts center on reason-based argument and avoid prejudiced attacks.

I think that the moderator can be taken at his/her word when saying new posters are given the benefit of the doubt so that their voices can be heard. The moderator is quite liberal (pun intended) in letting border-line posts get by.

Enjoy,

Mateo

Joan

Who are you to questionthe actions of the person who owns this forum. He has the right to ban your offcentered beleifs which do not match those of the majority of this forum. You have done no more than insert paste ons of heretical stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with Catholism and followed Dennis to boot. I have wished that you would be gone from this forum for months and it is about time you learned to either be in line with the Church or be gone. It is your choice alone.

Why couldn't I get on this site for a couple days? Anyone else have this problem?

Mateo says:

"If I had my own forum (I don't!), I would censor arguments when they went into gutter-language and personal attacks. I would maintain the posts of those with diverse views whose posts center on reason-based argument and avoid prejudiced attacks. "

Dear Mateo, I don't see how newspaper articles of current events insult the clergy. They may insult the guilty sinful clergy and that is as it should be. I would think that those who truly care about the church would like to do some house cleaning and be aware of what is going on within it.

If the purpose here is to allow Catholics to deepen their knowledge and faith I wonder how the following posts, which have not been censored, are helpful to such :

"Cheeky little monkey....LOL. You know what still boggles my mind, though? Fag. I just don't get how that one is cigarette. ???

-- Jackiea (sorry@dontlikespam.com), April 26, 2002.

Granted, Jackiea. Fag=cigarette. Better than that, how does the British "fanny" equal the American female genitalia?

Perhaps, with our parallel heritage, we should cross the pond and spend a quid one day? You know, good ole Blighty? Flavorless nosh, brilliant adventures? LOL!

You would rather cause a divorce would youu you silly baby killer. Your advice and comments are pure rubbish in here, get lost you overgrown "BOIL". You are about as numb as anyone I have ever seen. You are a feminist and a pain. Your ideals are not what I call "Catholic" or Christian for that matter. BEAT IT.

Joan

I have one, maybe two words that describe you. But, I will hold my tongue for now. But, you can be called a deviant catholic without the graces of GOD present. For you support deviancy, as you have demonstrated it well with your support of abortion and othe deviant statements. Beat it woman(If that is what they call you).

Fred, Your Christian "love the sinner"...is shining through as usual.

I wonder what Godde thinks of your ability to read Her mind and decide what lurks in the soul of another. Maybe She will hire you as Co- Chair.

Why not try, for a change, addressing the questions posed in the post rather than judging and name calling the poster. Mateo has said that is not acceptable.

Blessings to you and yours.

Joan

You are as usual a plain fool to address your false god again. What i say and what Mateo says is altogether our thought s and you cannot change that. You cannot control me anymore than you can be contolled by the will of the real GOD. You prefer the devil and his works. It is very clear now. I AM SICK OF YOU AND YOUR RUBBISH.

-- Fred Bishop (fcbishop@globaleyes.net), May 02, 2002.

Joan

You still missed the point as usual. I do LOVE the sinner. But I do NOT have to LIKE the sinner nor the sin. There is a distinct difference.

Joan, these "newspaper articles" are often thinly veiled op/ed pieces written by authors who have an agenda to push. I have trouble believing that you cannot see an anti-Catholic bias, considering the choices of words and the duplicity of selective reporting that appears in these "articles."

Your unquestioning faith in the objectivity of these articles is an interesting contrast to your lack of faith in basic Catholic teachings. You seem to have an unabashed antagonism toward all Catholic teachings.

Enjoy,

Mateo

"I wonder what Godde thinks of your ability to read Her mind and decide what lurks in the soul of another. Maybe She will hire you as Co- Chair."

I would suspect, NOTHING. Nothing, as your self-created deity does not exist, and therefore, cannot think. Wait a minute...I'm drawing a parallel. Joan? Are you godde?

-- Melissa (holy_rhodes@earthlink.net), May 02, 2002.

Joan,

I've got an idea for you: why don't you try posting a paragraph or two of *your own thoughts* before pasting these articles that show why you think a particular article is important to deepening people's faith in Christ. That would probably be better received than just reposting anti-Catholic articles, don't you think?

Frank

P.S. Actually, you'll probably have to back up a step and explain why you think God wants you to help mothers kill their own children before people accept you as being a good Christian, but that's something you ought to be thinking about anyway.
