Dear Friends in Christ

I was just thinking the other day, people is posting a lot of questions on the bulletin board. My question, "does the AMEC only minister amongs non-white people or is that only the case Africa" I might be wrong but I thought that minister is about "everybody" and not restrickted to certain cultures.

Forgive me if I am wrong. I am not a minister but I am planning of doing some ministry work for the church. I was thinking of doing a cause in "counciling" and church administration. Education is very important for me. Then I will try to reach with "everybody". I work with a lot of non-white people and can see that they need spiritual help as well. Regards

Jerome nb. Forgive if I am wrong!!!

We have persons of all difference cultural backgrounds in our congregation. I also know that to be the case in many other AME Churches.

Jerome I live in the state of Montana which is in the western part of the U.S and is bordered by the country of Cananda. My state is 98 percent white. Yet the A.M.E church has been in Montana since the 1860's. Actually it was a black woman Lydia Allen who came to plant churches here. My congregation is african-american, white, bi-racial, latino and native american (Indian as they prefer to be called) You are right Jerome we are called to preach the gospel to all people. Congratulations on wanting to continue your education. Please do not rule out ordained ministry, you have a wonderful heart and a love of Christ, pray about how God wants to use you. You may be surprised. Keep us posted!

Jerome,

Here is the explanation of the AME Church (Pastor Barta: I listened!)
A   African - The heritage of our ancestors
M   Methodist - The doctrine of our church
E   Episcopal - The government of our church

Jesus ministered to people of all colors, races, and social standings. If we claim to do his work, we must be color-blind.
Take care and God bless....
