What gospel CD should I buy?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

Hi, everyone, it is time for me to buy some new gospel music. I was waiting for Rob (RP)to buy me a Hillsong CD for my birthday, but I do not think he is going to buy me anything;-)(Yes, Rob I have no shame!) So alas, I must go into the world and buy my own CD.(I have violin music playing as I type this, and tears are falling on the keyboard, o.k maybe it's not tears but some water I am drinking, but you get the idea.) Do you have any suggestions for me. The last CD I bought was Donnie McClurkin, I have played it to death. By the way my daughter got to meet him at the fifth district mid-year conference where he performed. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I love you!

Rev. Rogers,

You can't go wrong with anything my Richard Smallwood.

This is not new and perhaps you have it; Oletta Adams has one Gospel CD. I absolutely love it.

I love Praise and Worship music. Rodney Posey has a CD "El Shaddai". I love it.

Enjoy, Carmen Rose

Carmen you are indeed my precious sister in Christ, thanks for your suggestions. Since we do not have a gospel station in my town, I have to rely on my A.M.E discussion board family.

If you go to Monostereo.com and click on 24/7 gospel music. You can listen to music over the internet. The downside is that you can not choose the music but you skip thru some selections. Also you can download a music player (for free) RealOnePlayer or Windows Media Player, each of them have gospel radio stations that you can listen to while your on the internet.

The last CD I purchased was Yolanda Adams Believe.

Tracee God Bless you! For the info, I least I get to hear some gospel music in Montana. By the way who are your favorite Gospel artists? Thanks so much and welcome to the board.

At the end of this month, an AME will be debuting his first national gospel recording. He is the Rev. Smokie Norful, who presently resides in Chicago, who, I think is the minister of music at Greater Institutional AME Church where SC native Rev. Julius McAlister is the pastor. Smokie is a native of Arkansas where his father, the Rev, Willie R. Norful, Sr., is a candidate for bishop.

Rev. Norful served as 12th District YPD President during the time I served as 7th District YPD President. Then and now, he is an anointed singer. I would encourage every AME to show our support for Smokie on this CD. If every AME bought his CD, it would be such a good thing!

I think a great uplifting CD would be A New Song Of Worship, Rodney Posey & Praise.
