Anyone out there homesteading in the mountains of southwest Virginia? We are wanting to move to the general area and would like to talk with others who are there.

We live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, so that might not be as southwest as you want, but we are native Virginians and have lived in the Radford/Montgomery County/Floyd/Pulaski areas. What area are you interested in?

We live south of Roanoke. Email me any questions and I'll try to answer them for you.

Carol....If I wasn't living here, I'd be living in SW Virginia too! I have friends (who are like family) that live in Saltville. I go visit them EVERY chance I get...it is five hours from where I'm at now. As a matter of fact I'm going for a visit in a couple of weeks....I'll send my regards for you......

Howdy neighbors! Wythe County here between Wytheville and Pulaski. We just moved here in July. We love it so much I can't tell you!

I live in Prince George VA but we bought a place in Kenbridge (Lunenburg Co.). Hopefully will move to it mid summer. Gotta find a job though.

Hello Neighbor! I see from your ISP provider you can't be too far off, I live in Natural Bridge. I moved to Rockbridge County two years ago from Washington State and love it!

Craig County here--along the Appalachian trail. Land is RARE ! Prices are in the 100,000.00 to 600,000.00.depending on what you want. I do know of an old two story farmhouse on the edge of New Castle, Va--5 acres beautifully remolded--185,000.00.

Whoa!! Don't make it too scary sounding. All depends on what/where you want it as to the land prices. We bought our place for $105,000. 11 acres, 2 story house, huge barn, big shed and a all season spring that we get our house water from. Franklin Co. still has some good buys.
