Mother's Day Poem & Craft idea

I was planning a Mother's Day craft for my Pre-school group when I came across this poem. It was so nice that I wanted to share it.

A Mother's Day Verse

When I was a baby, she did so much, She bathed, fed and changed me and such She hushed my cry with a sweet lullaby Mothers are very nice people!

When I was one, she laughed at my "talk" She held my hand and helped me to walk She tickled my toes and tweaked my nose, Mothers are very nice people!

When I was two, she calmed my fears She fixed my hurts, and wiped my tears She held me tight, and made things right, Mothers are very nice people!

When I was three, she helped me too I learned to dress and put on my shoes. She taught me to share, and how to be fair, Mothers are very nice people!

And now I am four...standing by the door I turn around and wave once more She smiles at me, kind of funnily Mothers are SUCH very nice people!

What I did for a craft was print up enough of these for each child that needed one. The poem got glued to a sheet of construction paper. They then folded that sheet like a card, and glued or drew whatever type of picture(s) they wanted to give their Moms for Mother's Day. We put their names, and the date on the back so that Moms could keep them if they chose to. It went over GREAT. The Moms were thrilled with their cards.
