Alternate Names: Midsummer Ripe, Bian Xia (Chinese)

Family: ARACEAE

Parts Used: Prepared root.

Properties: Analgesic, Antiemetic, Antitumor, Antitussive, Antivenomous, Expectorant, Hemostatic, Immune Stimulant, Lymphatic Decongestant, Respiratory Stimulant.

Internal Uses: Allergies, Bronchitis, Catarrh, Cough, Gastritis, Goiter, Lymphatic Congestion, Nausea, Tuberculosis, Vomiting

Internal Applications: Tea, Tincture, Capsules.

Pinellia helps dry dampness and benefits those with excessive mucus conditions.

Energetics: Pungent, Warm, Dry.

Chemical Constituents: Amino acids (arginine, serine), alkaloids (ephedrine), polysaccharides, phytosterol, choline, zinc.
