Heel Spur update

I wrote about this on a couple of other forums. I have a heel/bone spur. Tried several things, asked for advice. Called my health food store friend, she said "that's easy", I said yeah, right. She said 'apple cider vinegar'. She was right. It's not gone but in about a weeks time, it's 50% better. I take it straight and she gave me some vinegar pills.

I love just plain old cheap tenny's, Now I have to buy a good shoe. I buy nurse's shoes now, cost a bundle but they last. I no longer have spurs and such. So maybe its time to get into a good shoe, Cindy I know how a spur can hurt.

So what exactly is it that makes a "good shoe"? I am having problems also, not certain it's heel spurs but it's likely. I have tried many different types of shoes, including some fairly spendy brands. Some seem better than others but none are really that much help. The most expensive pair hurt more than any of them. I have also tried the gel insoles, and gel heel pads (even in combination). That does help some. When my feet get bad, the only thing that really gives me any relief is to wear slippers with thick wool cushioning. Of course, then I'm stuck in the house!

Stock tip for the day: If someone can recommend some tennis shoes that will make my feet quit hurting, buy up all the stock you can in that company before I hit the store! :)

Get some washable slippers and just wear them outside!! Better than being stuck in the house.

I never thought there was much difference in shoes, until I bought some NIKE Air... Awesome!!! I did buy them one size larger than I normally wear, very comfortable!!

When I had the problem, I was wearing those $3 canvas slip-on shoes like you buy at the Walmart or K-Mart. I only upgraded to the $8(on sale) moccasin type slip-on which has a half inch or so of cushioning. I don't think the shoe has to be expensive, just a little more supportive than whatever you're currently wearing.

My foot Dr. recommended an exercise for my heel spur. Face the back of a chair or a wall, take a couple of steps backwards, then lean forward holding onto the chair or wall, keeping your feet flat on the floor. This stretches the bottom of your foot and it really helps. Do this a few times a day. He also told me not to go barefooted. It has worked wonders!

Cindy------don't know where I was /I just now saw the post----yes--- Apple cider vinegar----I take about a table spoon full in a glass of warm water often---that is what they told me to do also----if I feel I'm getting an acid tibby--- I cut back & don't drink it as often!!!!
