What's everyone up too?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I will be working most of the weekend to get the museum cleaned up before the shakedown cruise on Tuesday. I just found a small single family house that is affordable and in a nice neighborhood so I am going to go pay the deposit tomorrow. I am so ready to live in a nice place with a good landlord. The double I live in now is falling apart around my ears. It is a little more than I am paying now but with my promotion I will be able to afford it.

I have a date Saturday night. We are going to go see Spiderman and walk along the canal. He is an architect and I am looking so forward to it.

The kids are having a special mother's day program at church then I will be working the rest of the day.

Congratualtions, Melinda! I am so happy to hear that everything is finally falling into place for you. Your still in our thoughts and prayers.

I have finally had a few days off and have been scrambling to get caught up around here before I leave again on Sunday. Let's see, hauled two truckloads of junk to the dump; started weeding and fertilizing my citrus trees; made a huge dent in the housework; and this afternoon I have to get a new tag for my '54 Chevy pickup which is now in the shop- hopefully by the time I get back from NY next week I will have the truck back, just in time to play with over the summer. I am in the middle of drying 15 pounds of apples which I got on sale a few days ago; and have high hopes of getting outside to split a hive today or tomorrow, one which looks in danger of swarming. Also just finished re-writing the first 22 pages of a screenplay that I have been working on for a while- hope to get another 20-30 pages done while in NY next week.

Hope that you have a wonderful time on your date, Melinda. And good luck with the move.

Congratulations! It's so wonderful to have a place to live where you feel secure and happy.

Good luck at the museum, hope all goes well, and happy Mother's Day!

Elizabeth,

What kind of Screenplay are you writing? Thanks everyone else.

Yeah, the mom's the last one to know. Where is this you're moving. If you're not careful you'll be moving as much as I have, I hope not though. I'm quite pleased with myself, I've almost got the holding bed for herbs and perinnials done-for now and I've got the yard in front of the barn almost cleared, waiting for it to dry a little. Now that was a job, But I didn't runover any old telephone/elelctric lines today. Love Mom

Melinda,

I am writing a screenplay for a feature film, and I won't bore you with all of the details here, but basically the storyline is this- overpriveleged teenage boy, after being essentially orphaned, saves the ancestral farm by resurrecting his grandfather's beekeeping operation and earning enough money to pay the bills, just in time to keep developers from coming in and destroying the natural wetlands on the property- what a kid, eh!

I am indulging my passion for bees with this one and I'm not sure how appealing it will be to the masses- might turn into a VERY expensive home video, lol. But, regardless, I am having a lot of fun with it.
