Hands & Face

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MILDOT : One Thread

Paul has been quietly busy on this great web site again. Nice new pic on the home page, plus some others in the gallery. Nice work mate. Now...I've held my tongue about this for quite a while (like from 2 incarnations of the board ago, just to see if others commented. I cannot understand why, with a cammoed up rifle and a ghillie, people regularly neglect hand and face treatment. Hands generally move fast compared to the rest of the body. They stick out and attract attention like the arse end of a deer and will betray you quicker than anything. The only thing I do with a rifle with out gloves on is maintenance and cleaning. ALL range work is done with gloves. I always have a long stretchy green neck tube that can be pulled up to eye level quickly, which saves scaring folk with a full on face paint job (especially useful in ops other than war, where you don't want to upset the friendlies, e.g. NI or Bosnia). Take a look at the Photo Gallery under "Sniping" and see what I mean. What does the rest of the tribe think about this? Adam . . . out

Hi Adam!!! I know it looks like s-it when i dont have any camo in my face and nothing on my hands but as Per said i didn't want to go more serios on the comp than doing my shooting in a ghillie. But i will send some more pictures with ghillie and gloves on my hands and camo in my face. Bought a nice pair of gloves today. I think they are for golfing because they were very thin and sitting very tight.

See you on the range boyz..........Mr TP

Hi Per, Got your message. Finalising dates in the next week. I will arrange the paperwork so you can bring the "paddle" with you. Program will be sent once finalised....but you can expect the following : Overnight in a Victorian hunting lodge on the edge of the Cairngorm mountains, followed by a full day up in the mountains on red deer hinds. Back to our house, then a couple of days out on Roe deer. Followed by a traditional driven pheasant shoot on a Saturday. We will also try to fit in a morning flight on geese in the Montrose Basin during your stay as NE Scotland is renowned for its wildfowling. Will be in touch through your private e-mail shortly. Practice payed off then eh? Seem to remember 12 months ago you pretty much said you'd be getting serious for 2002. Well done. I had guessed the "cover" pic was posed, but on a previous cover Paul was alongside a stone wall with AIAW, raggamuffin ghillie and ....his NI gloves. It just seemed a good que for something that is a bit of a pet topic of mine i.e. hands & face. It's just a mind set / self discipline thing - if you always do it, even when not strictly neccesssary, you will not be let down when you need it most. Amen. OK enough sermons.... Save yer pennies, and let me know if you are free in early November for a spot of classic Highland stalking - now you've proved you can shoot straight!!! LOL. All the best, and congrats again. Hi mate! Reason Mr T ainīt covered with camo is because the pic was taken during this years comp. It was kinda unneccesary to have Mr T doing a complete make-up because of a single photo, even if that would have been the right thing to do. But I can assure you he had a really nice ghillie! My humbleness forbids me to tell who won ;)
