I guess it depends on what you want it for?

Adobe software is great! Although I've found Final Cut Pro to be the best for quality, versatility and it has a bucket load more features. However if I'm editing up my home movies I use imovie2 on my mac. Quick and simple.

Avid Express. real time effects, noodle salad, good times.

hey, Premier is great, but final cut pro for mac is better.... as far a PCs go, the whole line of Discreet products are by far the best. They aren't the cheapest, but for editing, Discreet Fire is the best for PCs, and for effects, Discreet Flame is the best. Peace.

Nothing compares to Vegas Video from Sonic Foundry. Real time everything! Great quality. Need to get tons of plugins which sucks. But otherwise it is so simple. Drag and drop file. Right click to add effects, drag you levels up and down, the easiest opacity editing in the business.

premiere is a piece of shit, final cut too. The way is Avid Xpress DV 3.5.3 and a Combustion on PC. If you have money, buy a Discret Fire.

Blade or Vegas Video if you want to go with the cheaper end of things. I agree that Avid Xpress is a nice program but a little over kill with a low budget. If you have adobe premiere make some money with to buy the better ones. That is what you have to do to not loose revenue!
