What documents should I ask for

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

I'm just starting the long process of fighting Direct Legal & Collections (acting for the Halifax)for the ridiculous amount that they are demanding as a shortfall on a 6 year old repossession. I've asked for the documentation for the amount (£24,000)and they've just sent a completion statement... and that's it.

I'm about to press them for evidence of their figures.

Apart from asking for copies of the mortgage deeds and mig, are there any other documents I should ask for?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Drew,

I would suggest you have a look at Do's and Don'ts on the Home Repossession site under "What to do when lenders won't cooperate."

Mark.
