Erasing some files in catalogue

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Anders Petersson's Freeware Forum : One Thread

Hi, your software is very powerfull, but it's impossible to come into a catalogue to erase some files. When i catalogue a cd, i've files for pc and mac. But i don't whant the Mac's. It's impossible to select only the pc files when cataloguing (or i didn't find the way). So when you make a search, you've lots of undesired files. It will be fine if it was possible to applicate a mask before making the catalog.

Response to erasing some files in catalogue

It would be very useful to be able to make a catalog using a file pattern. I'll add it to my list of things to do. Thanks for the suggestion.

While a mask works most of the time, it would still be good to be able to pick files/directories to remove after cataloging. For example, you might have several CDs with different versions of files - it would be nice to hide old ones as you catalog new ones

Also, is it worth making a distinction between removing a file listing totally and merely hiding it from "normal" display (ie, have a flag to show these hidden files if you really want to). Not sure if that's worthwhile, or an unnecessary complication.
