Looking for pictures and information on this industrial lead that once branched off the A&Y line in Greensboro to serve Vick's Chemical, Southern Finishing and Cone Mills. Line went through area now known as Latham Park and behind Moses Cone Hospitital. Abandoned in the early 80's{?}.

I moved to Greensboro in the early 90s. I think the Furnace branch was ripped up in the mid 70's not the early eighties. There is a webiste at http://southern-railway.railfan.net/ay/ about the A&Y. It may not answer all your questions, but I think it does mention when the track was removed. If this does not help I have an email of a retired Cone Mills employee that grew up near the A&Y and gave me a tour of the area last fall. Hope this helps.
