Where the heck! Is Countryside!

Sorry, I haven't been on here much I know, but where the heck did Countryside go, and can I still get there?

Hi Trennie! Hope everything is well in your little corner of the world. Chuck has moved CS over to his own website and renamed it Homesteading Today. As you may or may not know, Countryside Magazine is no longer associated with the forum and so the name had to change. The location changed because with the way Lusenet goes up and down, people wanted the forum on a safer and more stable location. They were having a lot of problems with troll(s) as well.

You can find CS forum and several of the other offshoot forums at: Homesteading Today

Theres a countryside II forum, acountry place and a country singletree are still open on lusenet along with this site. Chuck isnt in any rush to open the old archives on his new site. By the time he opens the archives, countryside II and the other sites will have developed archives. Homesteading Today is having troubles already with trolls, flamings and "nose in the air" issues, but is an entertaining offshoot forum all the same.

Trendle, if you go over to Homesteading Today, be careful of those little yellow faces. I think they are laughing at me...

Darn it, Jay - don't tell me that! Next thing you know, I'll think I need to go take a look! (Not gonna happen. Nope. Don't think so.)

PS - I like the way your mind works; re: offshoot forum. You're quite correct; I just never thought of it in quite those terms. I was looking at it as more of a seizure type thing. Now I can quit feeling quite so angry, maybe.

So Chuck has complete control over the old CS archives now, eh? What an altruistic guy - just doing all this work, setting up the new forum site; and all for the benefit of others.

I'm just glad that Phil was able to back up the forum/archives before they disappeared.

Sites can be somewhat controlled, people cannot. The forums are people and therefore will carry on of their own motivation. Free thinkers will always gather to discuss and "Three will gather at a rock to form a church". Human nature is always unbridled.
