I didn't watch teh HBO special on the WTC

Well, it's true we don't have HBO, but even if we did I wouldn't have watched it. Perhaps those who saw the event unfolding as it happened might be a bit more sensitive to the horror of it all, I don't know, but I just can't watch the stuff any more, it upsets me too much. Those glued to their screens that October morning saw people jumping--I don't need to see it again.

Tipper Gore complained that she was "emotionally exhausted" by all the current terrorism alerts. Christ, what a stupid cow! This privileged matron, who would be hustled to safety in seconds during an incident, is "emotionally exhausted"??? Well, poor thing--why doesn't she get her Prozac scrip refilled? I guess she doesn't want the people in Tennessee to get tornado watches and warnings, either. I'm not emotionally exhausted about the alerts--heaven knows, those of us left over from the original TB2K would be top of the list of those who would like to know about possible threats.

But I don't need to know any more about September 11 itself, thanks. It will always stay fresh in my mind--every scream and thump.

Old Git,

I agree with you. I don't have HBO either, but if I did I wouldn't have watched it.

While I do appreciate the warnings that are coming from the government, I think that they should analyze each threat before just putting it out there. Somehow, I have a feeling that the Al Quida are yanking our collective chains. I bet they know that everything they say will issue an alert. Who knows, I may be wrong. Don't get me wrong, because I do believe that there will be another attack upon our soil, but I doubt that any Al Quida that we have will spill the beans as to their true plans.

Yesteray, as you know, there was a terrible accident in this state and many people have lost their lives. I do believe this was a horrible accident and not a terrorist attack. What I get tired of are the ones that constantly believe that every single thing that happens is a conspiracy. Hell, the barge was still there! If they get a flat tire, it is a terrorist act? Sorry, but I believe that some people have gone off the deep end.

Sorry for the thread drift, but I needed to say that!

Anyone hear about the four dudes they arrested here in Miami?

Seems these guys were planning to attack a few power plants in our area, and the police [or whoever it was] caught onto the plans and nabbed the guys.

Also, I hear that it is becoming increasing clear that we do not have sufficient manpower to monitor our ports.

I didn't watch the HBO special. I didn't know it was on. We have HBO. I watched Shrek instead.

I didn't watch it, either..and I heard and am saddened about the bridge accident. I need to just left go of the neggie for a while, and just live, then I can "worry" some more.........LATER!

I was neatfooting the leather tack on the porch last night, and a guy stopped, and asked me where the resorivoir was..I must have paled 3 shades..as I looked at him...(He was asian) not american. he must have read my mind in my hesitation.. he says in broken English.."Oh..nonononon Me go fishing with the pole," and he had a pole! I thought about raising a stink here cause the water system is wide open with no fence, or anything.....and we are a large college town.

My favorite Murphy Brown line, "I don't have a tv, I have a life..." Actually I have a tv, I just don't have cable.

I recalled with some amazement listening to someone say yesterday that he didn't know what he was supposed to do with all these alerts. Why hasn't it sunk in to any of the masses what it takes? I can't protect against ground zero, but my TB2K training has me in good stead to stay flexible during the rest.

The major reason we're getting all these alerts is because of the "What did Bush know and when did he know it" crap. You want alerts? Okay, you can have alerts--hold out your arms! There went another one--look out for shoulder-fired missiles aimed at commercial airliners.

I couldn't watch the service at Ground Zero today, either. However, I couldn't grab the remote in time when a photographer showed his photo of people standing at the windows in what he said was the Floor housing Cantor Fitzgerald. Most of the people had their clothes burned off them and all of them later either jumped to their deaths or were incinerated.

Bastards. I'm waiting for a whole slew of them to be wasted by our troops. I wouldn't mind seeing THOSE pictures.
