I have some photographs of the San Francisco area in the early 1900's and am looking for information about identifying them.

I'd recommend talking with the photographic collections' curators at the larger libraries and historical societies. I've found them to be extremely knowledgable about locating and dating historic photos of the City. The institutions with the best collections include the SF Public Library's History Center, the Bancroft Library, the California Historical Society, the Society of California Pioners, and the two photo archives run the by National Park Service: the SF Maritime National Historical Park's J. Porter Shaw Library at Fort Mason and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area's Park Archive at the Presidio.
