OG, have you been looking for homes in Colorado lately?

I was playing around looking at home listings here in Miami when I thought about your move and so went to Colorado Springs to look around. Seems most of the homes are two or more stories. I guess the basement is common there. Anyway, I thought maybe you'd be interested in some links...

This last one is a listing of 71 real estate agents. Since I don't know what part of CS you are considering I can't get too specific. Here is a map of the area compliments of Classic Homes, linked above.

I won't post the image cuz it might slow this thread down. BTW, seems that Classic Homes website doesn't care for Netscape too much.

As I find other links to other builders I'll bring em here.

Sure are some nice homes for low cost out there and I was just looking at what I can afford!

Barefoot,

What a great idea! Why didn't I think of this.... (since I just bought the house last August).

Old Git,

Give Realtor.com a look as well. Hubby, my realtor, and myself all found the house we bought on the same day at around the same time on realtor.com.

I'm looking at www.homebuilder.com right now. [browser likes to crash today, LOL]

I wonder if OG wants to consider new homes versus 'used' homes. I suspect that OG would prefer little to no stairs. maybe a few steps out front, but if possible, none, right?

Here's a builder, Keller Homes.

They have homes from the 100's and up. Ranch is what they call a one story. Well, I've only looked at the one, and it has a basement you can finish.

the Emerson / Plan 543, lower 200's.

LOL! NO! Not a new home. I won't buy anything over 1965 or so. I like Realtor.com for their complete MLS listings. Yes, many of the homes for sale are split-levels which are right out. The house will have to have no more than one or two steps up the front or, if more, they would have to be spaced very far apart so a concrete ramp would be feasible. I could handle a bi-level, i.e., with a basement, but that would be where Sweetie has his computer room and his playroom. I can always have one of those electric lift thingies installed--saw one at a neighbor's house, impressive.

I also don't want one of those houses built on a hill, where the land slopes from right to left--you know the kind I mean? Terraced is okay, but not slanted. Don't want a corner lot, either.

Have been checking the paper almost every day--they had a real interesting series on the drought and water conservation. The link is still on the front page, I believe. I found out the editor or owner is a conservative/libertarian and the Springs goes Republican at election time.

I did like the idea of living in Manitou Springs, then I found out it's prone to serious flash flooding and even has a sophisticated alarm system to warn of same. The whole area looks interesting and they have trains all over the place so old gits can get up to see the mountains.
