Value of Art Deco Bedroom Suite

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Art Deco Society of Washington : One Thread

I have an Art Deco bedroom set that consists of: A double bed with a built in reading light. An armoire about 6' tall. The center section (for hanging clothes) is cedar lined and has a mirror with etched lines. On both sides there are 5 drawers and if you remove the bottom drawers there is a sliding panel to a secret storage area in the bottom. A dressing table with a 50" round mirror matching the one on the armoire. Two drawers on each side with one having a sliding makeup or jewelry tray. There is a blue mirror on the bottom of the center section and a blue glass shelf at the top. In the middle of the center section is a clock and to both sides doors that open. An upolstered dressing table bench.

The pieces are mostly birdseye maple veneer. They are in very good antique condition. There are a few small areas of missing veneer. All in inconspicuous places. There is one scratch on the footboard of the bed that can easily be repaired. All hardware is orginal and in excellent condition. The metal tag on the back of the bed (and also inside one of the drawers of the armoire) says Tiraner, Featurizer Furniture, Streamline Design. I have not been successful in my search for information about Art Deco furniture. Can anyone help me put a value on this set? Also where it was made and when?

Thanks, PJA
