how can one set up a personal meeting with the pope? (assuming there is a possibility)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

it's my wish to meet the pope in this lifetime. i had a dream that he came and asked to speak with me for a whole day without any security, cameras, and whatever. it is the only hope that i have to hold on to. i know the possibility of it is slim but i believe it's not impossible. if anyone knows of any way or is willing to help, PLEASE email me...

Why do you need to speak with the pope?

Just FYI, if you are Catholic, you would appreciate that you can spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament! You can talk with Jesus at any time and He will listen to you. Jesus Christ has saved the world; I hope you will value Him for redeeming humanity.

The pope is a holy man; but, he is only a humble representative of Jesus Christ.

Please pray to Jesus for the Pope, our priests, the Church, and all of humanity.

Van Vu,

I too see the Pope in dreams and visions. But that doesnt mean that you really have to meet the Pope personally.

The vision could also mean that Christ appeared to you in the form of Pope and wants you to speak to HIM for a whole day without any security, cameras, and whatever. I am sure the possibility of it is not slim. :)

Greetings !

Van vu, re your email(my outlook express isnt working), my comment was not really seriously and referred to the Popes recent meetings with high profile aging "rock stars" such as Bob Dylan, Lou Reed and Bono. I dont know how you would be able to meet the current Pope hes not a well man unfortunately. Maybe the next Pope, Im sure if that is what you feel is calling you and you dedicate yourself to meeting the Pope through a lifetime of prayer, faith, and actions you may meet the Pope. I just think that selling a few records would be an easier(sic) way to go!

Actually Id be interested in what people here think of the Holy Father 'pandering' to rock stars.

Well, Kiwi, I don't think that you know why those celebrities visited the pope and/or you don't know what "pander" means. Here is what the dictionary says about "to pander:"

1. To act as a go-between or liaison in sexual intrigues; function as a procurer.
2. To cater to the lower tastes and desires of others or to exploit their weaknesses.

The celebrities went with good intentions (to benefit people in need). The pope "panders" to no one. The pope, in imitation of Jesus (who dined with tax collectors and prostitutes), does sometimes meet with people whom the haughty and self-righteous reject.

God bless you.

I have met the Pope; I am not a rock start, a politician, or am I wealthy in regards to money.

If you ever get married...

I was married in April of 2002 in Houston, Texas, and went to Italy/Greece for a honeymoon. Months preceeding the wedding, I had contacted people at the Vatican and gave them information in regards to the wedding, and they subsiquently arranged for me and my wife to sit close to the Pope, and then personally meet him, and get a blessing from his hands after a Papal Audience. There were about fifty other couples doing the same thing.

My wife wore her wedding dress, and I wore my tuxedo, so you do have to dress up as if you were just married. It was a beautiful experience my wife and I will never forget, and we have some great pictures of the event as well.

It is possible to see the Pope, if you plan.

Yes, it is possible to obtain a Papal Blessing of almost anything after a general audience if you request in advance.

I almost wish I had. I'm attending a general audience of John Paul II in the middle of November. I think the precise date is November 19, 2003. I can hardly wait given the influence this man has had on how I live my life.
