Did you know we live in Tall Grass Prarie, and new e-mail addy

Yep, we have had so much rain, and unseasonally hot and humid temperatures, the hay is now as tall as my head, five foot seven inches of thick, waving in the wind grasses that are too thick for even the dogs to wade through. Looks like a giant green ocean when the wind gets up. I have never seen grasses this tall this side of the Big River! I think we are going to have to borrow a round baler to put all this hay in for the first cutting ( when it finally stops raining that is), and concentrate on the second cutting to square bale. All this done as square baled hay will kill us for sure, has to be over 5000 square bales out there, maybe more. We don't have that many barns for that much hay storage!

We have a new ISP, and consequently, a new e-mail address, this one is through my geek brother's domain name (which happens to be our family last name) so no matter what ISP I have in the future, the e-mail will remain the same. Our new ISP (copper.net) is the cheapest I've found so far, just $99 a year, and they are faster and easier to use than the old one.

Hi Annie! Havent seen you around here much lately. Great to hear from you there in your tall grass prairie!

Isnt that hay gonna be pretty much compromised in nutrition by the time its so mature? What kind of grass is it?

With all this rain, I was thinking about how good it feels not to have to worry like I have been every June about how to get that first cutting in. (finding good things about not having my farm). It was always so stressful. I betcha our farmers are having a heckuva time this year........worse than most. Actually, I havent been out in the country for a few weeks; maybe I'll take a drive to Wisconsin this afternoon. Only today and tomorrow I have the house to myself. (Well Lo is here alot, but she's in her apt in the basement most of the time).

Annie, isn't that 'big green ocean' kinda pretty in the wind though?
