search process causes run time crash

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Anders Petersson's Freeware Forum : One Thread

Windows 2000. DirectX 8.1.

I am trying to search catalogs. Once search is complete I am presented with a separate search results window BUT this window cannot be selected (it cannot become active). Once I delete the search window (not the search results window) program will crash.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have heard nothing like it before... Do you get an error message when the program crashed? What does it say?

If you move all the cdb files in the application path to another location, and then make a new one (just to see that no files that are searched have become damaged) - does the problem remain?

Perhaps I can help you if you give me an error message.

Run time error 91 Object Variable or With block variable not set

I find that W2000 finds a lot more errors than other windows products. Can you test with 2000?

Forgot to mention that I already removed all catalog files and then created a few new ones to verify that it wasn't a DB related problem.

Just a note that registry problem DID NOT correct this problem. Still cannot select search results window and eventually get error code 91 when terminating search window. Any other W2000 users out there???

I have been able to solve this problem by using the program option of resetting all the registry variables. Thanks.
