Moderator, Sharing Pictures?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

I would love to see all of you, that way I can put a picture to the people I pray for. Is there a way to share pictures on this forum? Just a suggestion? I don't need to see all of you in order to love all of you. But it certainly makes it more personal. Thanks.

In Christ.

Here is another link Jake.

My four year old is pointing out to where the fish is while I ponder which end of the gear to use.

mmmmmmmm,

Correct URL but a no go on the last one. I guess we'll stick with the close up until somebody might point us in the right direction.

-- Chris Coose (ccoose@maine.rr.com), June 12, 2002.

What's the code Mateo or are you going to hang me out there with that awful make-over photo?

-- Chris Coose (ccoose@maine.rr.com), June 12, 2002.

Hi Chris,

Hey, you picked the picture!!! :-)

Anyway, use the following:

[img src="http://www.dccomics.com/mad/dump.gif"]

replace the brackets with greater than/less than signs.

Enjoy!

Once more at Old Orchard Beach.

-- Chris Coose (ccoose@maine.rr.com), June 12, 2002.

Chris, is this you and your son?

Anyway, you accidentally had a space in the middle of your file. That's why it wouldn't show up.

Enjoy,

Mateo

Oops...maybe daughter!?!?! :-)

-- (MattElFeo@netscape.net), June 12, 2002.

Thanks for the help Mateo.

That is my four year old daughter Ella. She is pointing to where the fish might be while I ponder my existance. Typical. What a day that was!

Well, Mateo, you got Joanie right, but definitely not me. It's been quite a few years since I my last muscle atrophied!
JFG
PS: Speaking of Joanie, do you think her husband's name is Chachi?
PPS: Sorry, Jake H. I don't have any pictures. (I break lenses.)

Chris

Old Orchard Beach. I loved walking its entire length. It is so relaxing and heavenly. Sure miss it though. Now I am in the Midwest. All I see is Corn and Wheat here.

I don't know if this will work? How is it that you create an address for your pictures?

This?

Jake,

You need to place the picture on the web somewhere. None of our machines can see your D: drive. :-)

Wow! Well, it’s a bit big, but at least you can see me good. Are all your computers okay? Ha Ha! This is me finishing up my senior project for San Jose State U. I graduated this semester (yahoooo!). It is a workstation for stroke victims (aka cerebral vascular accident). My group worked with the Veterans Affair Rehab Research and Development center in Palo Alto Ca.

I really do hope more people post their pics. It is kinda fun.

In Christ.

Well, I had it up on my computer :) Please reference the passage above when I get my pic up.

Maybe if you just click this LINK you'll have luck. Sorry for all the posts.

Moderator, you can delete all the posts with a X where my pic is supposed to be. Thanks.

Where is "Old Orchard Beach?" MaryLu?

I don't know how to do that picture thing...have to ask my son to help me with that. Besides, I kind of like using my imagination to picture what everyone looks like - especially Fred when he gets mad at me....ha,ha

Fred is a biker, right? Fred, I picture you to have long hair - a pony tail kind of guy...Carolyn, haven't decided yet...long, hair, maybe red?? or blond?

I'll tell you why I would prefer to keep all of you in my imagination. Years ago, when I was working in New York, my boss used to get calls every day from a business associate/friend. I loved this man's voice. He had a great voice and he liked my voice.

A joke went on about this for a long time until one day he decided that we should meet for lunch....well, wouldn't you know it was one of my bad hair days, felt awful, looked awful - and we were both very disappointed...ha,ha

Jake,

Gongrats on your graduating this year. That project might indicate that you are an engineer type of grad? My grandmother would have said that you have the look of an instigator. That widow's peak, isn't there some connection to the devil when you've got one of those? I had a "cow lick" till it fell off. Looks like we are the only digitally equipped brave souls. Good try.

Mary Lu,

About Old Orchard Beach. Maine has about 3,000 mile of coast line - 12 of that is sandy beach. All below Portland. So if I go right from my house I get these beautiful beaches and if I go left I get the best coastal cruising in America. Then comes long winters, which has a way of keeping it all in pristine shape. Old Orchard Beach was an amusement town that lured many French Canadians for vacation. There remains traces of both but it is now dedicated to serving the day tripper. The name would not describe the current theme. I'd have liked to have seen it when it got it's name. The water is too cold for swimming for all but about 4 weeks. Big striped bass swim by and some try to catch them.

-- Chris Coose (ccoose@maine.rr.com), June 14, 2002.

MaryLu,

I got a chuckle when you said you thought Fred had a ponytail. LOL!!

Actually Fred is bald on top and keeps it short. I am a blonde-brown redhead -- you did get that part right, and it is long.

It's really funny trying to imagine what everyone looks like. I've seen pictures of Fred before I met him. Back in the 70's he had dark curly hair. Strange, but it didn't even look like the Fred I know.

My imagination runs away with me when I picture people. Sometimes they look more like cartoons than real people anyway.

Have a good week!! God Bless You.

-- Carolyn (FCB@heartland.com), June 17, 2002.

Chris C.,

I love the post card picture of you and your daughter at Old Orchard Beach.

I haven't been to Old Orchard in several years, but will be visiting this summer with the family.

Peace,

-- Kathy (sorry@nomail.com), June 17, 2002.

Mrs. Bishop,

Can I see a picture of Fred? :-)

David

-- David (David@excite.com), June 17, 2002.

Not your dreams, David, but thank you for asking.

Bless you.

-- Carolyn (FCB@heartland.com), June 17, 2002.

Ha,ha, Carolyn, glad you have a sense of humor about my imagining Fred and the pony tail...ha,ha

Chris, You are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful state as Maine. My husband loves it up there and is considering moving up there, but I don't think I would survive the winters! My friend told me all about those winters.

My husband and I went there a couple of summers ago and it was so beautiful - the coast is so awesome. We went up to York and saw that magnificent lighthouse, had great seafood in a restaurant overlooking the ocean....Can't wait to go back. The people in Maine are so nice.

Hey Fred,

Off topic but, bikey weekend in Laconia just came to an end. I'll bet you are no stranger there!! Do you miss it? Alot has changed. A friend of mine owns "Weirs the Beef" up there. I hear the turnout was great and no complaints from the local police.

Thought about you and Carolyn while watching the bikes roar by.

-- Kathy (sorry@nomail.com), June 17, 2002.

MaryLu

I have shaved my head bald on numerous occasions and I hve so little hair left that it would be difficult to grow a pnony tail. I do have a Moustache which gets pretty wild after a bike ride though It is a handle bar kind in some fashion.

Kathy

So bike week went off ok. The video cam they provided on line was in an area different than before and it really did not represent the activity there very well. From the video I saw it looked rather quiet and it must have been quite a ways from the beach area.

Yes it is my past favorite for sure and I do miss it. But we do have rallys in the area within 100 + miles here in Sturgis KY and Louisville. We even went to one in Sturgis Mississippee last summer. We are not going this year though. Next year I hope we can go to Sturgis in South Dakota and see the Crazy Horse monument. I have been told it is out of this world and worth the trip. We will see what happens - GOD WILLING.

Blessings to you Ladies.

Hey, Fred, it sounds as though you look something like G. Gordon Liddy.
Is that right? (No offense intended.)

John

-- (jfgecik@hotmail.com), June 18, 2002.

Hi Fred,

Some years back my brother rode with a group from N.H, can't remember the name but, I wonder if the two of you haven't met before. They were a decent group of riders. No drugs and that sort of thing.

I also had a picture of you in my mind......long "salt and pepper" pony tail with a long beard, a few tatoos, roughly 6 ft tall. A dressed up harley with side bags and fringe, comfortable seat on the back for Carolyn. Pictured Carolyn with medium length blonde hair, small build, tatoo of a butterfly or rose near the ankel, wearing a t- shirt that says "Best homemade waffels in town"!

I think I like the image I have of everyone here.

This was/is a fun thread.

Peace,

-- Kathy (sorry@nomail.com), June 18, 2002.

John

You want to bet that you are real close to that description comparing me to G. Gordon Liddy. Only my moustache may be a tad puffier. I do have a dimple on my chin too. Liddy have one? Carolyn says I look far more handsome than Liddy too.

Blessings.

Kathy

Yep I am somewhat a free spirited biker, but not the rowdy kind at all. I just love to ride and I have a Honda Shadow which is just as loud and far more dependable at that. In the summer time I have to wear a beanie cap or else my head will cook like a lobster. I got real lucky with Carolyn as she is just as free spirited as I and the bike never leaves the yard without her. It is near 90's here now and the riding is out of this world now. We have the good weather and you have the chilly weather. OH well.

Blessings.

-- Fred Bishop (FCB@heartland.com), June 18, 2002.

Wow, Mr. Bishop.

You look like Gordon Liddy? He is a pretty tough guy! I always pictured you to look like Mr. Rogers. I don't know why, but that is the picture I have of you in my mind. :-)

David

-- David (David@excite.com), June 18, 2002.

Hi Fred,

Honda Shadows have less needed repair compare to Harley's, and they look like 'em too.

On another note.....I have been looking into some local Shrine's. I found two that I am currently making plans to visit....day trips.

One is National Shrine of the Devine Mercy, Eden Hill, Stockbridge, MA. It has a virtual tour on the web. It looks so peaceful and serene.

The other one is Shrine of our Lady of Grace, Columbia, N.H. This one also had pictures on the web. This one looks like it will be a nice walk through the grounds. Can't wait!

Peace,

-- Kathy (sorry@nomail.com), June 18, 2002.

Kathy

Let us know what you see there. Sounds like fun and full of spirituality. Blessings

For those who watched the movie "Bedazzled."

I think that my best guess at Jean would be to envision him as a character played by Brendan Fraser in "Bedazzled." During the movie, his character (Elliot) sells his soul to the devil for seven wishes. To win the love of his life, he asks the devil to transform him into the world's most emotionally sensative man. This is supposed to win the heart of the object of his affections.

Here's a Elliot/Brendan after the transformation:

Here's a little taste of Brendan's character after becoming so sensitive:

Elliot: I caught sight of that sunset and I had to stop and weep. [he begins to cry] There I go again!

Girlfriend: Tissue?

Elliot: No I don't wipe my tears away I'm not ashamed of them I wear them proudly like small wet salty badges of emotional truth.

That's Jean to me...if the movie didn't have these lines, I'd swear Jean himself had spoken them.

Jean is no pig, I don't know why anyone would call him one. Though maybe he's written a poem about a gentle, innocent pig. ;-)

Mateo

PS--As my luck would have it, my friends rub it in that my "celebrity look-alike" is Ross (David Schwimmer) from "Friends"...oh brother... :-)
