what is the history and origin of the biological approach to psychology

Answers

At least as far back as Aristotle, probably further. Biological (as we would now call them) theories of the psyche/anima can be found throughout the ancient world, and through much of the middle ages as well (co-existing, of course, with a variety of "metaphysical" approaches).
