my '76 550k's rocker arm spindles are starting to wear into the soft aluminum cover and progressing rather quickly. i'm looking for inexpensive solutions, i can get another used cover for about $100, but in my current situation, that's money i don't have. has anyone had a machine shop bore out the cover & bush it? what about doing it your self? i'm a compent mechanic, but unfortunatly i don't have access to a shop now. thanks for any input.
