The word for the week is Reflection

Scripture: "If it had not been for the Lord who was on our side" Psalm 124:1a

The Lord has truly brought all of us a mighty long way. If you take a retrospective look one decade into your history, you will see just the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon you. You have not always had what you have today, and it could all be lost in a twinkling of an eye, but the Lord gives repeatedly for our sustenance!

This Psalm was written by David, who was a mighty warrior of God. The people thought David was so strong, handsome and heroic but David focused on the reality of it all. He took time to reflect upon his life and to "give props" to the real power behind his visctory. David realize he was letting his light shine that men could see his work, yet glorify his father who is in Heaven.

We are truly a blessed people. We have homes, automobiles, food, clothing, jobs and much more... but let us not ever forget that we did not attain it on our own. Our education could not have brought us thus far, our health could not have brought us thus far, our finances could not have brought us thus far... We must look to the hills from whence cometh our help. OUR HELP COMES FROM THE LORD.

Today, take the time to REFLECT and thank the Lord for all he has done for you.

"How can I say thanks for the things you have done for me, things so undeserved yet you give to prove your love for me; the voices of a million angels cannot express my gratitude. All that I am, and ever hope to be - I owe it all to thee. To God be the glory for the thing he has done!"

Let us pray: Thank you Lord for everything and everyone; most of all I thank you for what you have begun. In Jesus' name, Amen.
