We can water only on Weds and Sats

Saw it on the local newspaper website at about three a.m. and immediately went out and turned on my watering system. The swines didn't let anybody hve any warning on what days and my plants can't wait until Saturday. We can water only between the hours of 5 p.m. and midnight so I was three hours late. Boil me in oil. I'm very conservative with my watering and haven't watered my lawn (weeds) at all this year. I have about a hundred galls of water in my barrels so I shall have to start drawing them down.

Yep. That sounds like someting I would do.

I've been burying soaker hoses along the fence line by the new bushes -- it makes it easier to water without being observed and saves a little water, too.

You can also just cover the soaker hoses with mulch.

I may have to put netting down to hold the top soil and mulch in place. It be raining here!

yeah, I know, cry me a river, right?

One of our fish, a bottom feeder, managed to escape the pond. We found it last evening, feeding flies. What a stench. he was big, about 7 inches.

I saw sunshine early this morning, but now it is all gray and dark, no raindrops as yet. they say it has to do with a low off the coast of Texas which is drawing moisture up from the yucatan peninsula. I don't care where it's coming from, I just want it to rain when and where I need and want it. Hey, may as well wish for the moon and winning the lottery, huh?

Git, that reminds me, are you taking your porcelain lawn art with you? (I'm thinking it doesn't need to be watered...)

"It's the first thing I'm going to put in my new yard!" she said, flushing with pride.

ROTFLMAO

[can you tell I am in need of sleep?]

Git, is it within the spirit of the ban to top off all of your barrels on Wednesdays and Saturdays??

Doubt it, snort. The Hungarian has already said she's going to put 5-gall buckets in prominent spots and then top them up with tap water when nobody's looking. "Oh, yes, I'm so lucky that the rain pours right off that gutter right there." I think I'll do that too becuase my barrels can't be seen in the back and I just don't want any hassle. She's also going to shower only every other day in case the water co. is monitoring usage that closely. (She's from a communist society, she has every right to be paranoid. It's normal for her.) She knows one of her neighbors would turn her in in a heartbeat if she saw her using the hose. And I think I have one across the street that would too. Will have to put water from barrels in square cat litter containers (also 5-galls) and trundle to the necessary pots with my trusty hand truck. I already have a long-handled ladler I can use. Am also putting those plants that can stand it in shadier spots.
