Computer virus warning: Kleeze Virus on July 6

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

Heard this on the radio on the way in to work this morning . . .

That damnable Kleez virus will spring up again July 6. It attaches itself to e-mails sent to you and automatically sends itself to your address book addresses. Do a virus scan, and BE REALLY CAREFUL WITH ANY E-MAIL YOU GET FOR A WHILE; MAYBE EVEN QUARANTINE EVERY ONE YOU GET, UNTIL A CHECK IS DONE. The virus I was getting was Kleez.32; nasty little mother, took our company offline for two days, the computer witch doctor was pretty pissed. The e-mail has at least 120 different subject lines.

Like that old Hill Street Blues desk sargeant used to say, "Let's be careful out there".
