Has anyone played this game here? I'm just starting out in it...i really like it so far...the music and plot are great...IMO, it's another great squaresoft title...

Xenogears is a really good game, there is a part or two in the game where you might want to stop playing for some reason or another, but dont because this is one of the best games ive played. The plot is really religion based but whatever it still ranks up there with your favorite final fantasy and its better then the rest.

P.S. keep an eye out for xenosaga for the PS2 sometime next years i think. It will be a prequal to xenogears and the first installment to a 6 part series where xenogears is part 5

I've been playing that game nonstop for the past two weeks. I've always stopped playing at certain points (mainly because of dying after three hours of deathblow development...) but Now I've stuck it out till the end. This game really is a must buy.

The combat system gets a 10/10. It's very original. you don't just select "attack", You select a combination of triangle, square, and X button attacks (1,2,3 points respectively.) At the beginning, you start off with three points, and no deathblows. At the end of the game you can have MANY deathblows, over ten or fifteen, and seven maximum points. Plus there's gear combat, so you actually have two combat systems in one game!

The character development recieves a 9/10. Practically each character undergoes a severe change in disposition at least once in the game. The heroes are anything but stereotypical. I have to commend square on the personalities and actions of the villains. They're so evil, if they were real I would piss my pants if I saw them (not literally, just trying to express how evil they are, I would really kick their asses.) The only reason it received a nine is that some of the changes are sort of shakey. They just, happen.

Here's the biggie, the plot. It recieved an 8/10. The plot is so involved, it actually lost me. That doesn't happen much. It's VERY deep and developed, probably the best aspect of the game. There are several plot twists in the game that leave your jaw hanging. However, sometimes it's TOO confusing, and you don't know what the hell they're talking about. Also, some of the plot twists are completely random...

The MISC. catagory, hmmm. 10/10. The music is abselutely wonderful. It's literally a masterpiece. The graphics will make your jaw drop. The regular graphics are all hand-painted, two dimensional images. Then, at the drop of a hat, Gear combat changes everything into ploygons. It's truly amazing.

Overall, 10/10. This game is a must buy. GO BUY IT! It will be the best non-FF 60+ hours of your life.

ahh davey you bring a tear to my eye. My xenogears and davey growing up before my eyes.... It has to be one of the best rpgs for playstation if not the best... meca and ground combat common what more can we ask for.
