So, um, here's the thing. I want to get a GameShark to get everybody's ultimate weapons on 10, but here's the thing. I've gotten really far on the Monster Arena sidequest, and I don't want to start that all over again. Can I get the weapons from the GameShark without starting again or causing some kind of illmatic screw-up in my data? Sorry for folding on this one. I've never owned a GameShark/Genie, a Strategy Guide, or anything like that, but I'm just not having any luck otherwise. Advice?

Thats your first mistake. It is my experiance that should you use a gameshark/gamegenie helper thing, it screws with your system and eventually, you can't run your system without it. So, i don't touch the cursed things. My advice to you? Start over...

I have a brilliant idea, why dont you get the celestial weapons, or ultimate weapons if thats easier to digest its not that hard. You can get all of them with relative ease, and the crests, the sigils take a little time, but they aint that hard. (Assuming here that the british version is the same as whatever version you have). Cheating does defeat the whole point of the game. If you want to know how to get all of them, just say, but right now i can't be arsed.

I'd like to, but all of the sidequests are killing me. I can't win the chocobo race, I already blew it at the Thunder Plains, I can't tell the difference in the butterflies (slightly colorblind), etc. etc. That's the only reason.

Hmm practice a lot, and for the thunder plains for Lulu's power ups.. I suggest something to loosen your senses a little and staring at the top of the screen.... doing it in groups of 50.. ect. ect. seem'd to help.. and for the chocobo race for Tidus' power up, I suggest something soft that you can throw around without breaking much... and anger management classes.. ~ArchPyro

Hmm butterflies might be a problem, but honestly the thunder plains is easy, just go to the alcove in the south where there is a quactuar stone and a chest, stand still and just press x when the screen flashes, he cant jump back cos there is a wall in the way, so you dont have to walk away from lightning rods and get in battles that tend to make you lose count. The chocobo race is easy, just hope the first balloon is on your side and get all the ones in the first bit then dodge the birds and get as many balloons as you can along the way, Aurons is piss, Yunas entails no skill whatsoever, Belgemines aeons are piss. Rikkus takes a while but isnt too hard. Wakkas is also easy but by that time i was bored of playing blitzball by then so it was a real chore. On the butterfly hunt, f you do it, dont do what my freind did and get all the butterflies then accidently run off the screen so the chest disappears. honestly they are quite easy.
