Garden Questions Database Now Open

As a cost saving effort in Ohio, various folks (including yours truly), worked on a database that would suppliment (and in some areas) replace the horticulture hotlines. Since the hotlines are mostly staffed by master gardener volunteers, I don't feel badly because we weren't putting anyone out of a paying job.

This database is meant for Ohio, but might be useful to gardeners in other places:

You'll have to cut and paste the URL since HTML doesn't render non- www urls (?) But that is the correct url.

Since this is Ohio, Barefoot, Water Gardens weren't one of the top priority topics (here, it's LAWNS, LAWNS, and did I mention LAWNS?). In about a month or so, we'll have more on water gardens. They are becoming popular around here, although with the West Nile scare, more people are making "ponds" from pebbles and pretty hunks of cut glass.

Gardeners Supply has those doughnut-shapped thingies that you put in water to kill mozzies, safe for humans, birds, etc. Also, if you put a fountain or waterfall in your pond, that discourages mozzies, they don't like moving water. I love GS, I want to live in its warehouse.
