Not for now, no. I hade plans to add such an option, but it won't be avaliable for a couple of months.

Anders, NHB is the best backup application I've ever come across with. But I'd say that the option for compressed backup is the missing point. Don't take too long to include it! Regards, Marcos. (Rio, Brazil)

I would prefer that zipping backups be entirely optional if it's in there at all.

It seems to me that backup programs are coming from a different philosophy, or maybe from another era. The best -- fastest, cheapest, largest -- backup medium nowadays is simply another hard disk of equal or larger size. They're dirt cheap and huge.

I'm looking at backups now as more of partition-images rather than certain selected critical files. That being so, including zip files with their limit of 65536 files per archive, isn't a workable answer. I've downloaded and deleted backup utilities just because of that.

That limit applies even to an uncompressed zip file, so it should be entirely optional to use zip at all.
