JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO MAKE LOVE TO YOUR GRANDMOTHER...

You go limp! Not to worry! ASYLUM (Viagra for the brain) OUTPATIENT is here to help! Look far, look wide, through Gaia, Terra, and Memoria, and you won't find a bigger pain in the urethra than Ozma. Besides having a magic arsenal that would make a U.N. inspector pass out, he's fast, and is not afraid to use Cure magic liberally on himself. Between Curse, LV5 Death, Curaga, Doomsday, Flare, LV4 Holy, Berserk, Mini, and Meteor, it's no wonder that knocking 60,000 HP off of him is tough. However, I have all the information in this post that you need to castrate this giant...ball.

(1) Form a party of Zidane, Steiner, Eiko and Quina. Put Eiko and Quina in the back row, and if you have "Long Reach", you can do likewise with Zidane and Steiner.

(2) Equip the following abilities:

MANDATORY - Auto-Regen, Auto-Haste, Antibody, Clear Headed, Bright Eyes, Locomotion, Loudmouth, Jelly.

NICE TO HAVE - Long Reach, Auto-Life, Half MP, Guardian Mog.

(3) Make sure that Eiko can cast Full-Life, Madeen, Phoenix, and Curaga, Steiner can use Shock, Zidane knows Thievery, and that Quina knows Magic Hammer, Angel's Snack, White Wind, and Mighty Guard.

(4) Equip as much of the following equipment as possible: Chimera Armlet, Pumice, Demon's Armor/Wristlet/Mail/etc, Pumice Piece, Protect Ring, Ribbon.

(5) Make sure your levels are not multiples of 4 or 5.

Okay, now we get into why all of this shit is necessary. Ozma's favorite attack is Curse. Being in the back row and casting Mighty Guard can reduce Curse to just a few bad words. It won't take as much damage, and the abilities listed will nix most of the status effects, but there is really no good way to avoid Mini or Berserk. Angel's Snack cures them both, and Auto-Haste will (hopefully) dispel Slow. Mighty Guard will also take the edge off Flare and Meteor. Demon's equipment, Pumices, and the like either null or absorb shadow damage, so that cancells Doomsday. Ozma will actually hurt himself casting it. If you're not LV5 or LV4 divisible, then his Holy or other Death spell will miss. Shock will do 9999 damage, and Thievery makes a dent if you didn't do the Friendly Monster Side Quest. After Zidane and Steiner attack, keep Quina and Eiko's options open. If someone dies, use Full-Life. If a few people die, use Phoenix. If he misses an attack, use Holy or Madeen. If he uses Curse, cast Angel's Snack and Curaga. If ANYONE is unprotected, use Mighty Guard. If Ozma blows a turn, use Magic Hammer. If Magic Hammer nails strongly enough, Ozma will sometimes Absorb MP just so he can use Curaga. If that happens, he's on the ropes. Oh, and don't bother casting Scan or Reflect on him. He's guarded.

Keep in mind, that even with these tips, there is still a lot of luck involved. Curse, Death, Flare, and Mini SUCK to get hit with, and none of these will hit him if Reflected. I was lucky enough that he only used Curse once, and he wasted the rest of his time casting LV5 Death, LV4 Holy, Doomsday, and other crap. Was this long enough? By God, you'll thank me when you get the oh-so useful Strategy Guide and the Ozma card! No...wait...you'll probably feel like you wasted effort. Oh well, bragging rights anyone? THAT'S THE GIST!

Hmm ,my strategy was a little different, i had amarant zidane vivi and freya. amarant lobs the best (and very rare) throwing stars 9999 damage a hit, freya used one of her abilities that does damage equal to the number of dragon enemies times the number of dragon enemies killed. and as i spent ages killing grand dragons it also did 9999 damage. they all had antibody and the other status effect nulifiers and they always had auto haste auto life auto regen so if they died they were instantly revived and then before they had their second go they were at full health. Just as a side note on 8 omega weapon is a tad easy, just give every one auto potion after every attack they use an x potion restored to full health...

Zorch, your Omega strategy sounds good, but the only problem is that when he does Terra Break (the most devestating attack ever), there probably won't be anybody left alive to use Auto-Potion. I was about to call you out on your Ozma strategy, but I forgot you're playing a different version of FF9. In the U.S. version, you can't take Zidane out of your party for the Ozma fight, because I would have GLADLY swapped him for Amarant.

that is the onlt ff when you can take the main character out unless story dictates or in ten when you all troop around and never get separated except like two times...my characters were pretty souped up in 8 though, i used devour loads on each character, you can get everything to the maximum except luck...so i didn't have to use strength +10% etc and ultima was left for elem defence as it nulifies all elements...

Omega weapon is my bitch. He didn't even last long enough to cast Terra Break on me. What a wuss.
