escalator chugging - speed changes

I am seeking information and expertise from an escalator expert who has knowledge of speed changes on escalators whether caused by actual speed changes or lack of coordination between handrails and stairs. Harold M. Saalfeld

pulsing of steps or handrail can be caused by drive chain or drive sprocket wear, or a deteriorating connection between the sprocket and driving motor

Escalator issues

Many things can cause the problems you describe....depending on the make and model of your escalator.The best advice is for you to hire a qualified coompany...with "QUALIFIED ESCALATOR TECH's"....Have them do maintenance on a regular basis......Escalators can be very dangerous..
