how long to wait to have other hip operated on?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : About Joints : One Thread

I am 51 years old and had a total hip replacement performed about 90 dyas ago. The surgery was successful and I am virtually pain-free. However, my other hip which also has osteoarthritis hurts like heck. I have decided that it will also need an operation. I am in very good health otherwise. My question is simply, how long is the normal recommended time span between surgeries. How long should I wait before having another hip replacement performed on my other leg? Thank you very much for any answers you can offer.

Answers

You should wait at least six weeks in between hip replacements.
