in this world there is only one thing that is for sure... and that is we will all die sometime. It's hard to be happy with a life where death is the only definite thing in our lives. Perhaps that is why love is so powerful. Perhaps that is why we get so drawn in by the love of another, and why we get hurt when love is lost. Love is, or can be, the one other definite thing in our lives other then our eminent death. When we fall in love, something is finally for sure… something finally clicks. And that is us knowing that no matter how crappy life is going, we will always have someone there for us (the person we love). But that cannot always be, that cannot always be for certain. No matter how much we want to believe that love will last us forever, there is that chance it will not. We want love to be as certain as our death, but that will not be true, cannot be true…until that person steps into our lives. When this happens past love will be forgotten or, perhaps, tucked away forever in the depths of our hearts and mind. It will be a long journey for everyone, but when that journey ends, we will find the one other thing that is as definite as death… true love.

But does the uncertainty mean we should not go for it? As one who has gone for it and missed several times (including as far as marriage), I have not stopped hoping for true love to come along...I just wish it was as easy as it seems to be in the fictional world...but that would mean my experiences until now have been meaningless...oh well...like E said, when it happens, the past becomes just that...the past, and a new future can open up...have a nice day ;-)
