kxtv10.comGore Bars Media from Sacramento Speech on Homeland Security
Former Vice President Al Gore will deliver the keynote address to a Sacramento conference on President Bush's Department of Homeland Security this month, but he is barring the news media from covering it.
Invitations to the three-day conference say the ban is "due to the nature of the material" Gore will present in a stock speech on "Technology and the Future of America."
The conference is expected to attract about 1,000 federal, state and local government officials when it starts in August 26. They will pay nearly $800 to attend and are free to distribute Gore's information as they please.
