putting transcultural nursing theory into practice

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Transcultural Nursing : One Thread

I am writing an article about transcultural nursing theory. While I am able to find extensive information on its history, tenents, etc., I would love to hear from a nurse who has put it into practice after taking formal classes or training. How was the training? Was it helpful? Relevant? Do you think it should be part of every nursing school's curriculum? Any insights that I can add to my article would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

In response to your question: "I am writing an article about transcultural nursing theory. I am a certified transcultural nurse & a certified clinical nurse specialist (CNS). As you know, CNSs are about directly applying concepts into their practice. I have published several articles on the topic of clinocal/practice application of cultural competence to the subspecialties of nursing such as psychiatric nursing, rehabilitation nursing, home care, etc. Please visit my website at www.transculturalcarte.net to see the publications in this area. I hope this is helpful & good luck with your article....Josie
