I am scared...there was a loud Boom like explosion about 7:55pm here, and just again at about 10:20pm..the Sherriff car has just gone down and back past our house.

at 8:30 there were loud sirens, and fog horns, and all kind of ruckus one rd over and turned west onto another main route. we have news on NOTHING..we have police scanner on, NOTHING....I am looking on pc, nothing..Dan is now in the truck to see if he can see if it was a plane crash or explosion, or what! also ..the college town 2 miles up the rd....has no phone lines, or lights.

Normally I wouldn't think much..but 2 loud BOOMS and the house shook, and the sirens..and we are in woods, can't SEE anything!!! grrrrrr.

Dan is back, could see NOTHiNG.....the town appears to not have phone lines. this is strange...

(Wouldn;t it be something if it was the"neighbor" shooting off his guns!!! if so, I think he got a CANNON!!!! (but there is no lights on over there.) this is STRANGE..will let you know when the mystery is solved! oh, and kitties all sitting at the window as if they are looking at something, but we can't see anything!

Maybe sonic booms and the sirens were in response to a phone call reporting an explosion? Did you call the Sheriff's Office?

I didn;t call, but my neighbor lady did, and called even the next day..just NOTHING is reported..toooooo strange..like there is a black out on this!

My guess is sonic booms. Remember, we were still at orange alert (it's just been downgraded) and thus military jets were all over the skies.
