studies involving behavioral psychology : LUSENET : History & Theory of Psychology : One Thread

what famous studies have been done dealing with behavioral psychology and the nature verse nurture issue?

There have been thousands of studies addressing this question in various contexts. Some of the most famous involve using twins (who are genetically identical) to see if they are more likely than ordinary siblings to have this, that, or the other characteristic. Try using PsycInfo or some other database of psychological literature to locate them.

Hi Kasi, there was a psychologist by the name of Ku, I think. And he did some studies on whether cats killed mice innately or if they had to be taught. You might find his experiments interesting. Also, check out a current comparative psychology book, and look into bird songs. Best, David

The University of Minnesota has an entire program that they developed in the 1980's based on the study of twins. Its very interesting, I suggest you look into it.
