Barefoot, party of two. . .

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News - Homefront Preparations : One Thread

Woke up to an e-mail from Barefoot and Significant Other this morning--they're on their way. Shit! I have ripped the whole house apart since yesterday morning, lol! You know how it is--you get a new piece of furniture delivered and you decide, well, it can go there and then THAT thing has to go over there and I may as well clean it out while I'm at it, but I have to pack the stuff from the hall closet so I can put that stuff in there, and then there are those shelves I've been meaning to take down and replace with that piece from the den, and then. . . So every available flat surface in the front of the house is full of stuff and the bedroom is full of piles of laundry I didn't have time to put away yesterday and there are boxes and dolleys in the hallway, LOLOLOLOLOL! The patio table adn chairs are clear but it's supposed to rain most of today, LOL.

Well, I guess we'll be spending a lot of time out on the town.

I'll make them pay! I'll recommend the hottest stuff the Mexican joint has to offer and give them heartburn for DAYS!

Keep 'em so busy at the estate sales they'll be too tired to notice!

Old Git,

Relax, and kick your feet up! If Barefoot is anything like me, just getting to visit with you is enough. It isn't the house that is interesting, but the person there.

Oh yeah, do you still have all the yard decorations out front? LOL

Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not worried! There's no way I can get it straight and I'm not going to try. There's nowhere to sit so we'll just be out at Grannie's and the Ninth Street area, then the Mexican place for dinner. Yep, still have the toilet on the front yard!

SOLUTION!!!!! just have them pick you up and continue Northward!!! I have plenty of room to sit and "jaw" awhile!!!

Toilet in the front yard?! Sweet Jesus. Enclosed, I would hope!

You mean you haven't heard about my toilet, Peter? It's holding a bowl of decidedly tired torenia at the moment. I have often threatened to sit there, reading the paper, just to see if I can cause a wreck. It's a rather nice beige, not a glaring white.

Switched around some furniture, sorted out the contents thereof, tossed, tidied, tucked up, etc., etc., and am awfully glad the vistors didn't decide to turn up today as I'm well and truly knackered.

I prefer it with a pot of pansies in it.

Let us know how the visit goes! Wish I could have lunch with you!!

LOL

Well gee, if it's that much of a bother we can skip the visit. Wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone just because we're on vacation.

Like I'd pass up such an opportunity.

We had a great drive up. managed to do 85 mph as an average, according to the car computer. We tried to go fast, but not over ninety. It was a great drive. Oh, I said that.

I have found that there is no local dial up for my computer in this area, so I have to use my sister's gateway. The friggin thing has the on/off switch for the monitor on the back! Took me twenty minutes to figure it out. And the keyboard has way too many keys!

Anyway, we went fishing today on the river. caught lots of fish, all legal, too. Had to get fishing licenses first at walmart. got back to the house about 1130 pm.

I'm going to bed shortly, and it looks like we can do the durham leg of the trip either monday or tuesday. Wednesday looks good for sea fishing, and I hear that there are no storms to worry about.

I'll call git tomorrow, probably while everyone else is cleaning fish. I caught one, they caught the rest, so they can have the pleasure...

Night all! Weather has been great. we are very relaxed right now. well, sleepy, actually.

Oh, good, wondered how you all were doing. Looks as if we're in for some nice cool, dry weather--you timed it nicely.

The house is still half torn up and will remain that way until I get another energy burst. So we play outside. Maybe we can go pansying too--it's that time of year and I need to replace the torenia in the toilet. The garden is looking extremely tired and needs a boost. Me too, so hurry on in!

Looks like things are still a go for raleigh/durham visiting today. Maybe Manteo on Tuesday, along with Hatteras and Nags Head. All that outer banks area. Oh, but we have to stop at the Hatteras Yachts plant, too. Not sure what day. Also, Thursday is looking better for fishing than Wednesday, so whichever day isn't fishing we'll do something else.

No need to make too definitive plans, but we need some idea of what we're doing, otherwise we'd end up sitting around surfing the net.

Look forward to talking to you before too long. Did you find the Hillandale/85 intersection? Hope so, cos that's where the Hungarian and I will meet up with you.
