The Treasurer's Relief

greenspun.com : LUSENET : AMTNSW : One Thread

For those who missed Conference 2002 (and for those who didn't) I was asked (as Treasurer) for the origin or a copy of my poetic report - Confession - original - it will be in the December Newsletter - until then here it is - (Kirsten this may be deleted 31st December 2002) -

I have called it 'The Treasurer's Relief' -

By order of the auditor I am empowered to report The audit is in order and not one penny short

The accounts were properly counted and your money wisely spent And not one single officer was discovered to be bent

And thus I may, this happy day, assure each lass and gent Your books were properly balanced and without embezzlement

With kind regards - Joel Morrell - AMT Treasurer - inter alia

Woo hoo! Now that you have thrown down the gauntlet Joel, I am wondering if anyone else has a poetic take on any part of the conference proceedings? I am thinking that a special poetry edition of In Good Hands would go down a treat, viz: My heart goes ping and a drowsy numbness dulls my sense, As though of massage I partook ... or bought a book in which to look For things to do when backs go crook LIke being shook In Mollymook When backs go crook, don't overlook A damn good shook in Mollymook oh, what the ...

But I wasn't there at the conference so this is only shame poetry which would make both Keats and Dr Suess shudder. Any advances anyone?

Cheers,

An overexcitable editor
