going away for play

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Dear forum brothers and sisters, we're going to the 'wine country' in Nor. Cal. to celebrate our 26'th wedding anniversary this weekend. Praised be Jesus! Going to ride in a hot air balloon. Can't imagine it.

Gail, i like your idea of us all going on retreat together. I've thought about how it will be when we do see each other face to face in Heaven. {God give us strength!!!}. What a wonder! "Eye has not seen nor ear heard, nor has it entered the hearts of man, what God has planned for those who love Him" !!! [somewhere in Corinthians}

I'll take you all with me, up up and away!!!! God bless you all, Tee

Now, Theresa, don't get too carried away! LOL. Don't want to end up in Oz, or worse still, the Great Midwest. I'll be looking for you, though, just in case. I'm approximately right in the middle of the U.S., white farmhouse, lots of cows. I'll get out my binoculars!

Love ya,

Gail

Happy Anniversary Theresa!

Sounds like you have a wonderfully romantic vacation planned! Have a wonderful time up there in that air balloon.

God bless,

Happy Anniversary, Theresa!!

I am jealous - always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon!! Have fun...

And the wine country is the most beautiful place I've ever been too. Don't drink too much of that wine - you'll fall asleep and miss out on the beauty of the place!! (ha,ha) You have a little sip here and a little sip there and before you know it...you're out cold...ha,ha

Can't wait until you get back so you can share with us....Enjoy!

Dear Gail, Kath, and MaryLu, it was fun! We watched as they unfolded the 150-foot balloon and blew it up, then shot fire into it to make it stand up. We climbed into a giant picnic basket, {I kept looking for Toto!}, and it gently floated up into the sky. I was amazed at the peaceful feeling I had as we sailed across vineyards, farms, and neighborhoods. Layers of mountains were visible beyond layers. You could see the peoples' pools and landscapes, nothing escaped the eye, they seemed so vulnerable. I couldn't help but to think of God 'looking down' on us like that, we think we run our little lives, coming and going, and yet everything is subject to His eye.

Gail, I would've looked for you but thankfully we didn't get that far!!

Thanks for your love and thoughts and prayers. I love reading your posts. Kathy have you gotten your rosary from Chris yet? Talk to you soon. Theresa

So glad you enjoyed your ride, Theresa and BTW, you write beautifully and only you could turn a balloon ride into a spiritual experience! :)

Well, maybe we would all do that. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. It is always so nice hearing from you. How lucky Jake is to have such a wonderful mom and a "fun" mom who apprently loves life and enjoys all the beautiful gifts God sends our way.

BTW, your grandchildren are 'delicious' looking - what doll babies...as I told Jake, that little guy has the devil in his eyes...he is going to be a charmer! :)

Hi, Theresa

Happy belated 26th to you guys. You are crazy going up in a balloon like that. I hope the Lord blesses you with at least 26 more healthy and happy years together. Who knows, maybe you will get 40 more healthy years together.

God bless you

David

PS; ML, The beautiful children are Jake[msn] and Regina's. They are banned from this forum at the present time. I pray that one day they can come back to forum and not attack the Mass.
