Greetings,

You might be interested to know that ACL 257, streamline coach, is now on the West Virginia Central RR and will operate on special excursion service out of Belington, W.Va. I am the historian for the railroad and would appreciate any information on the car. Thank You. Lars Byrne Durbin & Greenbrier Valley RR (operator of state owned WVC)

The ACL 257 was a square end tavern observation car built by the Budd Company. An article about this car and its sisters appeared in the 3rd QTR 2000 issue of Lines South, the magazine for this Society. Copies of this issue are still available and can be purchased through the Society in its on-line store. The article has a history of the car, a diagram and information on where and how the car was used.
