I recently purchased a used macro lens on ebay. It doesn't seem to focus much closer than my standard lens. The ratio of the macro lens is 1:10. Is that good? I'm not sure, can someone please explain macro ratio and what would be a good ratio for macro photograghy?? Thanks!!

Offcourse 1:10 is not a good macro ratio... Good macro Ratios are between 1:2 and 1:1.
