csxt freight train ?

I have two questions if possible I notice Friday October 11, 2002 a traincoming from Charlote, NC going throught Monroe, NC heading to Hamlet with almost the entire consist being steel coil cars, any ideas what train this was? The next day a train came through Monroe scanner said was Q646 which is normally a mix freight but was entirely empty pig flats?

Hi there. I live down here in Savannah, GA and thats happened down here. There was a unit train of steel pipes heading N. I believe it's normally a mix freight but more and more unit trains are passing through here. Hope I helped some! Jason

Don't know whether you are aware of this group or not but Carolina Rails has a very active Q & A site. While most of its active contributors seem to live or railfan south central NC and north central SC (and there is always some activity in their forum) they also talk about railfanning in other areas as well.
