in the sonnet-to science "How should he love thee--or how deem thee wise who woulds't no leave him, in his wanderings" does anyone know who the "he or him" refers to?

The 'he' referred to is the poet-narrator of the poem.

An answer from an English teacher: The above answer to the question is partially correct, but needs a bit of adjustment. The "he" refers to any poet, or any person with the heart of a poet, as mentioned in line 3 of the poem. While this description would indeed apply to the narrator of the poem as well, the narrator is not being specifically referred to here. The question in the poem asks how any poet could love Science, when scinec will not let him (any poet) wander through his own imagination.
