Bluecurve

Has anyone seen Red Hat Linux 8.0? It is badass. It has a new GUI called bluecurve that looks really awesome. It also is supposed to have an easy installation, so windows users can migrate. It is supposed to be making a huge difference in the market, but so far people have stuck with windows and/or their original linux distribution. Linux users don't like redhat, they like debian, and(most/lots of[not including KC])windows users use windows for simplicity. No one is in the proper situation to switch. There is a flash demenstration of 8.0 but in cortesy of people with slow connections(such as myself, this file DOES take a while to load) i will post a link instead of the file itself. So go here to look at this awesome demonstration of 8.0. RedHat linux 8.0 can be downloaded at this FTP site. You only need the first three ISO files, (psyche-i386-disc1.iso, psyche-i386-disc2.iso, psyche-i386-disc3.iso) which includes the install setup and all the RPMs, psyche-i386-disc4.iso includes the source code, while psyche-i386-disc5.iso contains documentation(or another source code CD, im not sure). Keep in mind all three of the required ISOs contain about 650MB of data each, so dont attempt downloading them on a slow connection.(unless you have two phone likes, or you dont mind having the phone lines tied of for a week). I hope you look into this, i found it extraordinarily fasinating, and already have Red Hat Linux 8.0 configured on a partition. I hope many of you do the same, and spread the joy of open source. If you want it, but dont have the connection speed, it can be bought at a store for 40 bucks, or you can buy it online here for $4.95 +$6.99 s&h. Still, it's a good deal. That includes all 5 CDs too. I hope everyone considers looking into this. See you around.

Dude... lay off the Linux...

Its a complete and utter waste of time. I dont know why anyone would want such a crappy program. I have been programmed by Mr Gates to respond in such a manner, so take no offence to it.

Dude i don't know anyone who uses linux. Almost everyone i know uses a pc. Some also use mac. Even DJs from radio stations use em. This guy on wfnx out of boston uses a mac and even said "macs are the superior system" on air. And have you noticed that in movies iMacs are used in the backround. Men in black 2 the guy used an iMac to use the denerolizer thing.

Trowa, listen cosly. YOU, ARE, A, FUCKING, IDIOT. You have no idea how to reference operating systems let alone how they work. Let me put it simple, if you own a PC, it does NOT mean you run Windows. I know you want it to mean that, but you need to come to reality and realize it doesnt. If you own a PC, you can have it run windows, Linux, BSD, Soloris, heck, whatever you want that is compatible with your hardware. If you say, "all your friends run PCs" as a defense, it doesnt make Linux any worse, the only thing it rules out are Macs. You need to get computer literate before you make idiotic posts. The best OS may not be Linux, but it certainly isn't MacOS or Windows. Because the best OS is open source. Why? Because it has the potential to be fitted to your exact needs, while windows and MacOS cannot. Linux/BSD aren't just good operating systems. They're statements saying "i will NOT pay $300 for this tiny disc that cost 10 cents to make, i will NOT let a out of control monopolist software company have a grip on our economy".
