Is Privation a reversible process?

This will depend on which particular definition of privation you're concerned with. D. W. Winnicott would say "no," but his definition entails a distinction between deprivation (the withdrawal of love that was once there) and privation (the absence of any love). Winnicott discusses this difference in The Anti-Social Tendency (1962). But I suspect you'll find some different opinions in the literature on Harlow etc.
